Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) is a minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment used to shrink uterine fibroids. It works by blocking the blood supply to the fibroids, causing them to shrink naturally and relieve associated symptoms.

Treatments

Performed by an interventional radiologist under local anesthesia.
Tiny particles are injected into the arteries supplying the fibroids to cut off blood flow.
No large incisions, shorter recovery time, and effective alternative to hysterectomy or myomectomy.

Symptoms and Causes

Symptoms Heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain or pressure, frequent urination, bloating, and fertility issues.
Causes: Exact cause is unknown but linked to hormonal imbalance (estrogen and progesterone), genetic factors, and growth factors influencing uterine tissue.

Prevention
